This is Darshana’s second Pujo after tying the knot, and even though her calendar is packed with back-to-back work commitments, she hasn’t let her festive spirit fade. In fact, her fashion prep is already in full swing — and this year, she’s bringing out the big silk sarees.

Fresh off her appearance in Anurag Basu’s 'Metro... In Dino', Darshana has been riding high on critical praise and tight deadlines. Still, nothing dampens her enthusiasm for Pujo.

“This time of year is sacred for me,” she says, her eyes lighting up. “And for Pujo, sarees are a must!”

A proud Bidhannagar girl, Darshana still gets nostalgic about pre-Pujo market runs.

“Back in the day, no Pujo felt complete without shopping trips to Esplanade or Hatibagan,” she says. “I used to love picking everything myself — sarees, jewelry, home décor, gifts for my loved ones. But now, work leaves little room for that kind of leisurely browsing, so online shopping is my go-to.”

That said, her online shopping list is anything but basic.

“Durga Puja is the perfect excuse for me to go full traditional,” she laughs. “You’ll mostly see me in sarees from Shashthi to Dashami — that’s the plan!”

And the showstopper? A kani silk saree from Kashmir.

“I picked it up during a trip, not knowing it would become such a trend this Pujo,” she says with a grin. “Silk has always had my heart, so that’s what I focused on this year.”

And just when you think she couldn't be more elegant — she reveals that two Dhakai jamdanis also made it into her cart. A fashionista through and through.

Darshana smiles. “I haven’t bought it yet, but I know what it’ll be — a pair of statement sunglasses. He refuses to change his old frame and wears the same one with everything. This Pujo, I want to see him in a fresh new look.”

And the cutest part? The couple’s signature color coordination is making a comeback.

“I love matching outfits with Saurav,” she says. “We’re definitely planning a twinning moment on Ashtami and Nabami. I buy his outfits too, so I need to pick out a panjabi that complements my saree — and time is ticking!”
